first post
i'm really glad i found this place!!! i've been honing my "skills" for a few years now, and most of the compilations i complete are sent off to a dear, dear friend who lives on the east coast [i'm in TX, boo] the second-best part, for me, is also making the cover art, which i'm currently too lazy to scan and upload, but if anyone is interested, i would be glad to include these in the future. so, here goes...

any suggestions?
So I'm trying to make up a jail/delinquncy/crime themed romance mix. I know it sounds a bit complicated, but here's what I have so far:

Jailbird(for your love)- The Exploding Hearts
Chaingang of love- The Raveonettes
Chains- the Beatles
You are the light (by which I travel into this and that)- Jens Lekman
Rebel, Rebel- David Bowie

They're all either retro or a bit retro sounding, but they don't have to be! I know I'm missing a ton of stuff, any suggestions at all?

Collaborative Mixtape
Hi everyone,

I saw this group and knew I had to share something I've been working on.  It's a new music product called Mixx Maker that is pretty much a collaborative mixtape.

Have you ever made a mixtape together with someone?  In Mixx Maker, you start out each 'Mixx' with a title (e.g. 'Music that I can air guitar to', or 'Music that I can use while I'm driving', or 'Music that will win her heart').  Then, you invite all of your friends to it and ask them to upload the songs they think would be best for it.

Right now, it's only on Facebook, but we're working on getting it over to other networks too!  Come check it out!  As mixtape lovers, I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

If Winter Ends - mixtape
So my friend and I compiled a winter mixtape for our newspaper at school and we wanted some input on what we wrote and if there are any improvements we can make before submission. It's going to be a pretty lengthy entry, so please bear with us. :p Oh, and if you want the songs on this, I'll be more than happy to upload it in zip/rar format. :D

I made this one for my friend who is graduating from OSU next week.

I call this tape Diez because it has ten songs on it. Yeah... not in a creative naming mood.

I like this one because I was able to branch out a little bit in regaurds to genre and not use the same indie rock songs I use on all the others.

1. I've Seen Better Days - Sublime
2. Friday I'm in Love - The Cure
3. Cream and Bastards Rise - Harvey Danger
4. It's My Life - No Doubt
5. Barracuda - Fergie (cover)
6. Cupid's Chokehold/Breakfast in America - Gym Class Heros
7. Beautiful Girls - Sean Kingston
8. Jumper - Third Eye Blind
9. I Need All the Friends I Can Get - Camera Obscura
10. Time After Time - Cyndi Lauper

songs to say i'm sorry
I was a bit of jerk to one of my friends today. I think she's going to want more than an apology. Any song ideas?

I was thinking With a Little Help from My Friends by the Beatles for starters.
